# Curbless vs. Low-Threshold Showers

> The difference between curbless and low-threshold shower bases, who each is best for, and what to consider about water control.

Both designs make it easier to get into the shower. They differ in how much of a lip remains.

## Low-threshold

A shower base with a short, gently sloped edge.

* Easy step-in for most people
* Helps keep water inside the shower
* Often fits within an existing tub or shower footprint

## Curbless (zero-entry)

The floor continues into the shower with no lip.

* Allows roll-in access for wheelchairs and shower chairs
* Seamless, open look
* Needs careful floor slope, drain placement and splash control

## Which is right for you?
